Extended Security Updates (ESU) is a Microsoft Azure offering that provides critical and important security updates for legacy Microsoft products that are beyond the end of support, such as Windows Server and SQL Server, to help customers upgrade securely at their own pace. ESUs are available for purchase and can also be obtained for free when migrating certain workloads to Azure.
